What Is The Difference Between Double Offset Paper And Copy Paper in Supermarket Cashier Paper

1. Generally, the moisture content of double offset paper for printing is higher (6-8%), and the moisture content of electrostatic copy paper is lower (3.8-5%). When copying, low water content can effectively reduce the copy curl caused by instantaneous high temperature and high pressure. If double offset paper is used instead of copy paper, the paper may become uneven after copying due to high water content. For double offset paper printing, too low moisture will cause the paper to stretch when the printing process meets water, resulting in inaccurate overprint and so on.

2. Electrostatic control generally double offset paper for printing itself is mainly used for printing, with static electricity; The electrostatic copy paper itself has eliminated the static electricity (add the antistatic agent during surface sizing, and use the electrostatic removal device during cutting).

3. Paper surface treatment (smoothness and stiffness) generally, double offset paper for printing adopts the traditional hard calendering method to treat the paper surface to achieve the smoothness required by printing. Different paper feeding methods can require lower smoothness. The electrostatic copy paper adopts advanced soft calendering technology for paper surface treatment. The relatively high surface roughness can obtain good loose thickness and stiffness, reduce the paper jam rate of the copy paper, and maintain good friction with the paper take-up wheel to ensure smooth paper feeding. However, too high roughness can easily lead to poor paper feeding and paper jam, and too low roughness can easily lead to slip with the paper take-up wheel and paper jam. The double offset paper has no requirements for stiffness, but the copy paper has higher requirements for stiffness, because the stiffness of the paper directly affects the copy effect. In addition, the thickness of the double offset paper is required to be low and the smoothness is required to be high, while the copy paper requires high thickness and smoothness. Taking 70g copy paper as an example, the thickness is generally required to be 96-100um smooth, with an average positive and negative of more than 25s.

4. Whiteness generally, the whiteness of double offset paper for printing is low, while the whiteness of electrostatic copy paper is high, and luminescent agent is added. Generally, the production process and process of double offset paper for printing are similar to that of copy paper. Many copy paper manufacturers used double offset paper or book paper to sell it as copy paper long ago. If there are no high requirements, the processed double offset paper and copy paper can be mixed. Unless you are using a high-speed copier, you need to choose electrostatic copy paper.
